Bonnie Wetter
Bonnie Wetter never has considered any task to be too menial for her to do as long as it benefited the people of her community.
She has taken on roles of kitchen helper, tour guide and committee member to advance the goals of the organizations she believes are promoting the community and benefiting its people.
Wetter has been a founding donor and trustee for the Stateline Community Foundation. She has served on boards and committees for several organizations including the Badger Council of Girl Scouts, Beloit Regional Hospice, Beloit Health System Foundation Board, Beloit Health System Board of Directors, Junior Achievement, Stateline United Way, Stateline Boys and Girls Club and St. Jude Catholic Church. She has been honored for her generosity and dedication to the community.
In 2013 she was presented with the Bridge to the Future Award, presented by the Stateline Community Foundation. She was also a recipient of the Beloit Regional Hospice Spirit of Caring Award for her advocacy and support for the not-for-profit agency.
Growing up in a family of 11 children, she carried with her the lessons of community, togetherness and family.
Wetter was born in Watertown, Wisconsin and moved to Beloit in 1977. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a Master’s degree in finance from Northwestern.
She is senior vice president at BMO Harris Bank in Beloit.
She and her husband, John, have one daughter, Jennifer, who is director of public policy for the Population Institute in “Washington, D.C.
