Make Music Day
BHS is one of many venues for Make Music Day in Beloit. Visit us for a display of historic instruments and a diorama of a Victorian parlor set up with instruments!
At 11 am, we will have a performance by Gene Shepherd, Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, sharing old country, bluegrass, folk, gospel, polka, jazz, old-time fiddle, played and accompanied by bluegrass fiddle, guitar, finger-style guitar, accordion, mandolin, 5-string banjo, tenor banjo, 6-string banjo, dobro, doghouse bass, harmonica. A 4th gen. Fiddler, singer, musician.

Make Music Beloit is a free, citywide, day of music held annually on June 21. Our festival is part of the larger Make Music Day, an international summer solstice music celebration occurring in 1,000+ cities across the globe. Did you know that Wisconsin has more cities participating in Make Music Day than any other state in the United States?
Manufactured by the Victor Talking Machine Company. External-horn phonographs (often just called “Victors”) were made from 1901 to 1920. The iconic internal-horn “Victrola” was introduced in 1906 and saw its highest production volumes from 1912 through the late 1920s.
