100 Years of Memories:

Share Your Big Hill Memorial Park Story

Beloit Heritage Days | 1926 - 2026Big Hill Memorial Park is officially 100 years old in 2026! In March 1926 the land was purchased with $15,000 raised from 4,000 community members and donated to the city of Beloit to establish a park in “tribute to its service men and women of American wars”.

To commemorate this milestone, we will be putting together a 100 Years of Memories At Big Hill Memorial Park video and on-site display and would love to have you share your Big Hill Memories! We will also be holding special events this fall.

We invite you to be part of its story by sharing your memories and experiences. Whether it’s a childhood adventure, a family picnic, a favorite view, or a meaningful moment spent with friends, each memory helps bring the park’s history to life. Your stories will help honor the generations who have enjoyed this special place and inspire those who will visit in the years to come. Join us in celebrating a century of community, connection, and nature by contributing your piece of Big Hill Park’s legacy.
